Packing blues

Oh dear, I am terrible at packing there is no doubt about it. I must point out that I don't have the blues about moving, I'm very much looking forward to settling in our new home. Packing though, urgh! I am in denial. I look around the room and think "there's nothing in here to be packed, it's all fine" DENIAL!! Also little Daisy likes unpacking what I do manage to pack which is only cute up to a certain point. Well one way or another we will get packed and moved. Then I will have all the time in the world for crafting and blogging, yeah right!!

Yummy!

I went to a nearly new baby sale today. There wasn't a whole lot of girls clothes in my little ones size but I did pick up a few bargains. I was glad to pick up a larger sleeping bag for £3, it's very pastel pink which isn't my thing at all but it will keep little one cosy which is what really counts. Anyhoo, what I'm really posting to say is that whilst I was there I popped into the back room where they were selling homemade cakes I had the most amazing parma violet macaroon, delicious! I love macaroons anyway ever since a lovely french friend of mine brought some as a gift. I really want to try making some although it seems a bit daunting, Big messy cakes is usually all I can muster, but I think they would be quite satisfying to make.

They looked a bit like this......but not quite as perfect and dainty. Oh and the filling was violet cream, not chocolate ganache.

Think I will need to hunt down a recipe quick sticks!

Ahh, holidays...

We just returned from Crete.
Good food, great company and wonderful sunny beaches with crystal clear water. Bliss!

I do feel like it's the middle of winter now though. I had a potter around the shops today and was very excited to see all the wintry things, it's made me feel all festive. Roll on the mince pies and knitting.

Ooo, what a great day it's been. Myself and a good friend of mine took our girls swimming, then we had some good food and I finished the day off with some shopping. Even better, the shopping was free as we had some more wedding vouchers, this time for Cath Kidston. Here's what we treated ourselves to...



and we also got a lovely picnic/garden basket which I love. As if that wasn't enough I also got my new ellaroo baby wrap in the post today, the delivery was super fast from little possums. It's gorgeous, the pattern is called 'La rae' and it is super comfy.

As Promised!

Well as promised. Here is one of my practise shots with the new camera. I don't generally like to blog pictures of my wee one, but she has been my only photograpy subject of late.
Here she is in here new Peltor ear protectors. We just bought her a green pair after a noisy wedding and her aunty had the same idea and bought a pink pair, so she'llbe able to co-ordinatewith her outfits I guess!!

Things I like....

Today I like my new camera, the Nikon D5000. It is kind of a wedding present, we were given vouchers by lots of lovely people and decided that a good camera would be a great buy, especially as we never get bored of snapping our little girl. I'm still experimenting with it but I will pop some shots up on the blog soon.

It's got a cool flip screen so awkward angles are easier to shoot, I'm sure it's not going to make me a fab photographer but hopefully practise will make near perfect!!
